Football (might be) coming home
Even if you don’t like or follow football, it’s hard to get away from the excitement of the Euros. And just like the other 56 odd million frustrated England supporters, we’ve spent the last few weeks shouting at the TV in the hope that England can just pull something out the bag to make it through to the next stages.
It's not been pretty, or impressive in any way, but somehow, we’re still in the running. That got us thinking, rather optimistically, that we could (just maybe) in fact make it all the way to the finals.
When England reached the Euro 2020 final, it was the furthest they’d been in more than half a century.
But the journey to that final began a long time before the tournament began.
And it began with a team of people who’d never been involved in football before.
You see, the England manager, Gareth Southgate, decided that he wanted to open himself up to new ideas rather than following the same template that had seen England flatter to deceive for 50 years.
So, the FA set up the Technical Advisory Board in 2016 featuring prominent figures from cycling, rowing, rugby, and even military commanders and tech entrepreneurs.
It’s something we’ve been talking about between the team here at MPX and the idea of taking knowledge and experience from outside the industry you work in might seem ridiculous at first…
But it’s something we do every single day.
At MPX, we work with an eclectic mix of clients in a variety of industries which gives us a great oversight into the challenges that different businesses are facing.
(Some of those industries include; E-Commerce, IT & Consumer Electronics, Manufacturing, Recruitment, Utilities, Wholesale & Distribution and plenty more)
And by helping them overcome those challenges with software solutions, we develop experience that we can apply to the next challenge.
Which means that our expertise in various areas benefits every single one of our clients.
Of course, there’s a more strategic element to it than simply having an outside perspective on challenges and solutions…
But solving problems is what we do and our experience across a broad range of industries, businesses, and issues means that we can come up with creative, agile, and expert solutions tailored to your business.
